MATCHASOUNDS 024: LATE FALL 2020
Heeeeeyyyyyyyyy!!!!! Isn’t is fkkkking wild that it’s Thanksgiving, and we’re still locked down amidst a global pandemic we thought would be done after a few weeks?
Anyways, I’m here with the latest installment of MATCHASOUNDS (Sent with lasers). I know I was hoping to shift to more of a quarterly release, but I’ve been sitting on this playlist for 2 months already and am so ready to get it out to share with all of you!
It’s been a crazy Fall. Looking back on the release of 023, I feel like I’ve lived ten lifetimes. I started this new one even before 023 was published. (Can you tell I’m feelin a lil antsy right now??) A huge part of 2020, or at least the second half of it so far, has been taking action and not just sitting around. This is a huge part of me building out my portfolio, launching SIDE OF MATCHA, designing and selling the calendars, masks and stickers and some other random things I’ve been working on.
For this playlist, I wanted to assemble some clubby dark dance bops filled with incredible basslines. Every time I listen to it, I just want to be in a dark basement club drunk dancing around like idiots with all my friends (also, RIP U Street Music Hall and all the nights I spent there doing this exact thing). It’s hard to listen thru this tracklist and not wanna break it down on the dance floor.
There’s a lot that’s happening these days, even with the days seeming shorter than ever. I’m hoping that brighter days are ahead of us as we transition into a new year and new administration. Until we can all be together again, I hope that this playlist adds some of that brightness to your days.
